2 easy Violet Ointment recipes

For this you will need 2 oz of cocoa butter, violet leaves and 2 oz of cocoa oil. Melt the cocoa butter
in the top of a double boiler. Add as many violet leaves as you can mash down into the cocoa butter and cook till the leaves wilt. Add as many more leaves as you can mash into the cocoa butter and wilt again.
Do not boil, but simmer over the hot water for about 15 minutes. Remove from heat and add 1/2 teaspoon peppermint or lavender essential oil . Stir, then pour through a sieve into a glass jar.
This ointment is good for any minor scrapes and cuts you might get. It helps them heal faster and keeps them from getting infected.

Here is another recipe
Violet Salve..
1 cup of violet flowers
1 cup of violet leaves
Make sure they are dry and place in a crock pot.
Cover with Almond Oil (about 2 cups)
Turn on your lowest setting of your pot  (keep warm)..
Let it sit overnight ...
In the morning strain through a cheese cloth..
Measure out 2 cups of the oil
Grate up 1/2 cup of beeswax..
Melt the beeswax in a double boiler until melted.
Add a few drops of Vitamin E .  Mix the oil and wax together with whisk.  I added violet oil.. (optional)
and some lavender oil .. (optional)
I like a nice mild scent for the salve..
I just shook it in until it smelled lightly..
Pour into containers...
Let cool...It should be firm...
