Summertime and the beaches are breezy



Pina Colada Lip Balm

1/2 cup (4 oz.) almond or other carrier oil (not mineral oil)
1 oz. beeswax (If too soft add more beeswax- too hard add more carrier oil.)
1 tbsp. honey or 1 capsule of vitamin E
(squeeze vit. E from pierced capsule - throw capsule away)
Add a few drops of pina colada fragrance oil. (Do not exceed 5 drops at least the first time.)

Combine carrier oil and beeswax, and warm oil to melt beeswax. Stir in honey or vit. E and
then add the Essential oil. Pour into small jars or balm tubes to harden.

  
Fruity body splash

1 tablespoon finely chopped lemon peel
1 tablespoon finely chopped orange peel
3 tablespoons vodka
10 drops mandarin essential oil
10 drops orange essential oil
5 drops lemon essential oil
5 drops grapefruit essential oil
3 tablespoons white wine vinegar
2 cups distilled or boiled water

You will need a fine sieve and a sterilized 20-ounce glass bottle with a tight-fitting stopper.

Place the peels and the vodka in the bottle. Cover tightly with the stopper and let stand for 1 week. Press the mixture through the fine sieve to extract all the liquid. Pour the liquid back into the re-sterilized bottle. Add essential oils, vinegar, and water. Let stand for 2 weeks, shaking often. Keep in a cool, dark place.


Lemon lime Body Splash

For and added coolness on a hot day, keep in fridge.


Combine 4oz. Witch Hazel, 4 oz. Mineral Water
20 drops Lemon essential oil
10 drops Lime essential oil

Combine and pour into an 8oz. glass bottle or jar. Use anytime you need a refreshing lift.


Herbal face toner

This toner is very refreshing for all skin types and its also easy to make

1 t. dried or 2 tablespoons fresh chopped her of your choice
1/3 c. boiling water
2 T. witch hazel
a pinch of boric acid (obtain at most pharmacies)


Place the herb(s) in a bowl and pour the boiling water over it (them). Cover and let cool. Strain out the plant material. Mix the boric acid into the witch hazel. Add this mixture to the herbal infusion (tea). Store in a sterilized bottle or jar in the refrigerator and use within one month. Shake well before each use.

Ginger and Lime Salt Scrub

1/2 cup fine sea salts
1/2 cup grapeseed oil or olive oil
1/4 cup fresh ginger root - available at most grocery stores
(pulverize in a blender)
1/2- 3/4 teaspoon lime essential oil

Mix your salt and pulverized ginger together. When it appears to be a consistent blend, add your grapeseed or olive oil and blend well.
The last step is to add your lime essential oil (you can also add a drop of ginger fragrance oil to accent the addition of ginger root), make sure you stir it well.

Store in a tightly sealed glass container. To use, scoop out a tablespoon or two and start to exfoliate hands, feet, elbows and rough spots, massaging into skin with gentle circular motions. Rinse with warm water.


Ocean Breezes Bath Gel
You can add any essential oil to this bath gel and it becomes a different experiance.

1/2 cup soft water
1 packet unflavored gelatin
1/2 cup baby shampoo
essential oil

Heat the water to the boiling state and then dissolve the gelatin in it.
Add the shampoo very slowly and stir just to combine. Pour the mixture
into a fresh jar and allow to set in the refrigerator. Scoop out a little as required for the bath.

A few drops of your favorite may be added to this recipe if desired.


Orange Lavender bath oil, shower gel and bubble bath

This mix is also great with unscented shower gel for a bubble bath.

½ oz. German chamomile infused oil
4 drops sweet orange
5 drops lavneder

Drop oils into infused oil and shake well.

To make shower gel simply add the recipe below to the recipe above omittimg the above recipes essential oils.

For Bubble bath simply add to 8 oz baby shampoo or clear scentless liquid soap, shake well.

After The Sun bath melts

Bath melts are all the rage. Compact, moldable single servings for the perfect bath. but you will have to hide them cause the kids will love them too


1/2 cup cocoa butter
1/2 cup baking soda
1/4 cup citric acid
2-3 teaspoons powdered lavender
1/2 teaspoon Lavender essential oil
1 drop blue and 1 drop red food coloring (optional)


Melt the cocoa butter add EO(s) and color if you wish. then add powdered ingredients, stir then pour into molds. I love the silcone ones for this. Let sit in fridge or freezer until set then pop out of molds and let sit for a day or two. Then use or wrap air tight to store or give as gifts
